Queering Accounting pedagogy
As accounting educators, we affirm our commitment to social justice by ensuring that no student is marginalised based on diversity of gender, sexual orientation, or culture. This commitment requires accounting education to move beyond heteronormativity to a more inclusive curriculum where every student feels they have a meaningful place. Our work involves challenging prevailing heteronormativity in accounting education and exploring diversity and inclusion through intersectionality. Our aim is the implementation of a fully inclusive accounting curriculum where the diversity and uniqueness of every student is celebrated and where every student has the opportunity to succeed.
